The identification of the author of these notes is not certain. There is one letter within volume 6 addressed to Dr Cunnison, but without a comparison of handwriting it has not possible to assign these notes to Dr Cunnison. References within the notes would indicate that they were written after 1924. ...

James Paterson Ferguson was born on 15 May 1907 at Clydebank, Dumbartonshire. His father, Thomas, was a moulder. James attended Clydebank High School, and graduated BA (Oxon), before attending the University of Glasgow between 1924 and 1928, studying Latin; English; Geography; Logic & Metaphysics; and Moral Philosophy.
